June 4th was the start of the commercial salmon fishing season. Due to the strong north-west winds, only four larger non-local boats were seen out in the water.
Word was that only four (4) salmon were caught on one of the commercial boats. No reports from the other boats.
A couple kayakers made it out to the Bell yesterday and brought back a small salmon caught on bait.
The jack-smelt have moved out of the harbor area coinciding with little bird activity seen for the last few days.
Winds have continued this week and are suppose to ease up a bit after the weekend. Next week should be a good wind week for all anglers. Then the winds come up again by the next weekend.
