Commercial Dungeness Crab season is open. So far the crab are big and full but numbers are not all-time. The crabbers are stoked to be back on the water and are making the best of these short seasons.
If you would like to buy crab, check with Don Sacks along Upper Pacific Drive. He often has crab and his number is posted at the fish cleaning station.

The Sport fishing season (all boats) for all Rock Fish and other Federally regulated ground fish ended on December 31st. However shore-based anglers can still try their luck.
Sport crab is still open, and of course Petr-ole sole, sand dabs, mackerel and a variety of other fish non-groundfish can still be caught from boats.
The Petr-ole sole are in deeper waters found recently at 300 ft. depth and deeper, along the edge of Delgada canyon.
With the winter weather and often windy and rough ocean conditions this time of year, good luck finding those few days that are the calm between storms.
